Founded in 1999 in the United States, Segway has become a global leader in smart short-distance transportation and service robots, with a presence in over 80 countries. In 2021, Segway revolutionized lawn care with the launch of Navimow, an innovative robotic lawnmower that eliminates the need for perimeter wires, which we had the pleasure of reviewing here. This year, the manufacturer is launching its new Navimow I series, featuring the Exact Fusion location system, enabling centimeter-level accuracy. Launched at an ultra-competitive price, Navimow I promises an effortless, high-tech lawn care experience for homes around the world. Navimow H: A Successful Trial!Since the launch of the iconic Navimow H Series in 2021, Segway has achieved remarkable milestones in the European market in just two years. The first cordless robot mower designed for homeowners, the H Series has achieved cumulative sales of 40,000 units in two years, becoming the fastest-growing and most sought-after brand in the industry.
As the H Series continues to be highly regarded by users, the manufacturer wanted to offer an economical, agile, and intelligent model for smaller gardens. Therefore, the Navimow I Series is designed to expand the product line and introduce it to more users worldwide.
Navimow I: A Concentration of Technology

The Navimow i Series inherits Segway's innovative genes and offers comprehensive intelligent features to ensure a simple and efficient lawn mowing experience. It's a perfect choice for those new to lawn mowing or users looking to upgrade from a traditional mower to a smart one.

The Navimow i Series features boundary wire-free installation, an AI-powered mapping assistant to easily define virtual boundaries, and vision-enhanced EFLS 2.0 technology for precise machine positioning and obstacle avoidance, all for a smart mowing experience at your fingertips.
The Navimow i Series features an ultra-easy setup process without a boundary wire. Everything can be configured virtually using the Navimow app. With just a few clicks, users can establish virtual boundaries, mark no-go areas, and draw safe channels to connect multiple areas.
A robotic mowing product is only as effective as precise positioning and route planning. The Navimow i Series offers a self-developed Vision+RTK positioning system to significantly improve performance. This system combines a custom RTK chip with a 140°POV camera-enabled vision system. Together, the Navimow i Series manages an incredibly diverse range of lawns with precise cuts and provides stable, centimeter-accurate positioning. Additionally, the vision system offers the VisionFence feature, which allows the Navimow i Series to navigate their lawn stably and systematically, intelligently avoiding objects such as trees and narrow corridors, as well as moving objects such as pets and children.

While it can be fun to have your robot navigate your phone to map the lawn area for the first time, users who want to improve mapping efficiency and accuracy can use the all-new AI-assisted mapping feature to help them. With this feature, the machine can intelligently identify the edges of the user's lawn while mapping, and automatically navigate and map the entire working area. Based on the map created by the machine, users can then revise and refine the working area on the app with great ease. Having seen it demonstrated, this feature is quite impressive!

Users can then create a schedule for each area and let Navimow i do the rest, even when they're away at work or on vacation. The model will continue mowing according to a planned schedule, switching to a different mowing pattern after 100% coverage, and intelligently recharging, when necessary, will repeat the process until the job is complete. Unlike traditional mowers and most robotic mowers on the market, which use a random cutting path, Navimow i offers a nice, clean zigzag cutting pattern to ensure every inch of grass is covered. It also changes patterns once the first round of mowing is 100% complete, just to ensure the lawn is cut evenly from a different angle.

Lawn edges can always be a headache for mower users, whether robotic or not. With Segway's exclusive edge detection feature, users can customize the boundaries to fit every part of their yard and mow with precision.

With the default setting, the machine stays within the virtual boundary and leaves a narrow edge of grass to the side. However, when the machine is set to Ride-on Boundary mode, the mower straddles the physical boundary between grassy and non-grassy areas while mowing to cut even closer to the edge.

Availability

While most cordless products on the market are still far too expensive to afford, the Navimow i series is aggressively priced to offer a simple and hassle-free robotic mowing experience for all users, perfect for both beginners and traditional lawnmower users.

Two models are available: the first at only €999, making it the least expensive cordless perimeter robot mower on the market. A second model is available at €1,299 (mowing area up to 800m² compared to 500m² for the first model). These models are already available on the manufacturer's website or on Amazon, and will soon be available in major DIY stores, such as Castorama and Leroy Merlin. A review should be available on the website shortly. I'll tell you more about it very soon! From what I saw at this presentation, the Navimow I promises to be a serious competitor to all existing solutions!
