A few weeks ago, I reviewed the Dreame H12 vacuum cleaner/washer, which, I must admit, left me a little disappointed, considering its performance compared to its price. Today, the manufacturer is back with a more powerful model, the Dreame H12 Pro. While the “Pro” suffix often indicates an identical model with a few improved features, here we have a model quite different from its little brother, which this time left a much better impression on us! Let's discover it without delay… Unboxing the Dreame H12 Pro It's impossible to be mistaken: upon arrival, the “Pro” label is clearly visible on the packaging! Be careful, this is a substantial package, measuring 71 x 33 x 28 cm and weighing approximately 7 kg. Four functions are particularly highlighted: wet and dry vacuuming, the high-capacity tank, cleaning close to walls thanks to its edge-to-edge brush, and finally the charging base that cleans and dries the roller!A quick user guide is visible as soon as you unpack the box:
Inside, you'll find many components:
The body of the Dreame H12 Pro, of course, along with its handle. But we also have a charging station, with two attachments that attach to it to hold a replacement roller, a filter, and a cleaning brush. We also have a manual and a small container of detergent:

A half-liter of detergent designed by the manufacturer, specifically for its products, which we had already seen on its latest robot vacuum/mop. At €23 for 500ml, the price isn't particularly attractive, but rest assured, most detergents will work just as well ;-)
Assembly is still very simple: simply insert the handle into the vacuum cleaner body until you hear a click. The result is a 1.11m high (23cm deep and 27.5cm wide) device. Made entirely of black and gray ABS and polycarbonate, the Dreame H12 Pro is quite attractive and fits anywhere in a home, with a neat finish. On this handle, we find the power and mode selection button:

While on the top, we find the automatic cleaning button. These buttons are now standard on this type of device.

Like the previous model, the Dreame H12 Pro is equipped with a unique microfiber cleaning brush for efficient cleaning and better water absorption. This roller rotates at a speed of 520 revolutions per minute. The whole unit disassembles very easily for cleaning: the plastic cover is removed by pressing the button on top, then the rotating brush is removed from the motorized shaft.

As you can see, this roller is completely hollow, which allows the rotation system to be located inside and not on the side, which provides more even power and also saves significant space for the motor.

It features the same roller attachment system as seen on the H12, allowing for cleaning as close to the wall as possible.

But thanks to its attachment to the motorized shaft, the roller is just as close to the walls on either side, making it much more convenient to use.

A quick comparison with the “classic” H12 (below): this one is wider because part of the roller motor is located on the left side of the roller. The Dreame H12 Pro, on the other hand, will pass as close to walls as possible, whether it's on the left or the right. The cleaning head is therefore a little narrower, which will make it easier to reach certain areas (I'm thinking, for example, of the narrow spaces between the toilet and the wall…).
Underneath, two small wheels allow the Dreame H12 Pro to glide easily across the floor.

Another major new feature visible on this Pro version: the much larger water tanks. We now have a 900ml fresh water tank at the rear:

A very tall tank, 37cm! And a dirty water tank at the front, this time 700ml:

This one is of course equipped with a HEPA filter:

Here again, we can compare it with the “classic” model, in second and fourth place: the Dreame H12 Pro's tanks are considerably larger! This will allow for greater autonomy for cleaning larger surfaces.

As you can see, the two models, while both bearing the “H12” name, are very different in their structure:

However, the same principle of a large screen on the top displays various information: battery level, cleaning mode, etc. The Pro's screen is slightly curved, which prevents it from collecting dust like the previous version…

Finally, a look at the charging station, which also stores all the accessories:

This station not only charges the Dreame H12 Pro, but also automatically cleans it before drying it with a jet of hot air, which prevents the growth of bacteria and therefore odors.

Once stored, the Dreame H12 Pro takes up relatively little floor space (30×33.5cm), making it easy to store:

Using the Dreame H12 Pro

Using the Dreame H12 Pro is relatively simple: simply fill its tank with clean water and a capful of detergent. Press the power button, and the vacuum cleaner starts operating.

This is a “smart” device: it automatically detects the level of dirt thanks to a sensor located between the brush and the dirty water tank, and adjusts its power accordingly. This is audible, but also visible thanks to the light circle around the screen: green is “normal,” orange is moderately dirty, and red is very dirty.

The device moves forward slowly, the roller automatically pulling the device along. All you have to do is move it back and forth to clean the floor.

This “Pro” model, however, has a deep cleaning mode, “Ultra.” It then takes 30 seconds to prepare and get to work. This is the time needed to activate its electrolysis system! What does this mean? It's a process we've already encountered, notably with swimming pool chlorinators, to clean the water. Without going into too much technical detail, electrolysis is a process that involves several reactions:

the production of acidic and alkaline compounds. The former will improve the disinfecting effect of the water, while the latter will act as a “surfactant,” i.e., improving the suspension of dirt.

In short, this electrolyzed water will allow you to wash, but more importantly, disinfect the floor, without having to use products like bleach, for example.

You must wait 30 seconds for the Ultra mode to start operating.

This electrolyzed water complements a detergent product, which is more effective on greasy stains, for example. However, the disinfectant effect of electrolyzed water is particularly useful for cleaning anything that might contaminate the floor (urine, pet droppings, dirt brought in from outside, etc.).
The H12 Pro also offers a vacuum mode for vacuuming liquids on the floor. In this mode, no water is added; only the liquid on the floor is vacuumed. It is also not recommended to vacuum liquids that tend to foam. This mode is perfect for vacuuming up spilled coffee, a glass of soda, etc.!
In use, the Dreame H12 Pro is pleasant to use and remains relatively light to handle, despite its weight of 4.9 kg and its larger water tank. I particularly appreciated the very thin edges, allowing it to follow walls from either side, whereas the previous version required you to be the right way up, since only one side was edge to edge. It may seem like a detail, but it makes life a lot easier! As does the fact that the brush is a little narrower: it becomes easier to clean in tighter spaces.
During cleaning, standing it up straight pauses it. The device then stands perfectly upright on its own, allowing you to move furniture or other items while cleaning. Simply return it to the tilted position for cleaning to resume, without even having to press a button. Practical!

By the way, let's mention the screen, which automatically rotates in the right direction to always display clearly readable information.
Note that the Dreame H12 Pro keeps voice announcements to keep us informed of the current mode, empty or overfull water tank, etc. And thanks to the small button on the back, it is possible to switch from one language to another so that it speaks to us in French :)Whether it's bread crumbs, hair, spilled coffee, sauce, or even flour, nothing can resist it! The floor is perfectly cleaned, without any trace of grease or sticky surface. An efficiency that actually makes me reconsider my position in relation to models with one or two rollers: ultimately, yes, a vacuum cleaner/scrubber equipped with a single roller can indeed do an impeccable job! You will of course have to try several times on certain dried stains, but the H12 Pro copes with flying colors in most situations!Once the work is finished, simply place the Dreame H12 Pro back on its station. This will put it under charge, but also allow it to be completely cleaned by pressing the self-cleaning button at the top of the handle (allow around 2 minutes 30 minutes for complete cleaning). The roller and the entire suction system will be cleaned several times to maintain a clean device, using clean electrolyzed water, which will therefore disinfect the roller and its entire suction circuit. A truly effective system, since after almost a month of use, the roller seems like new.
- A system of air jets heated to 55°C then dries the device for 1h30, and more particularly the roller, to prevent the development of bacteria and odors. Be careful, even if it remains discreet, a slight buzzing sound is heard for 1h30, which may bother some people.
- Then simply empty the dirty water tank, for example in the toilet, the vacuum cleaner may have collected waste and not just dirty water.
In use, the new tanks also prove more practical. While with the H12 I had to fill the clean water tank mid-way and empty the dirty water tank before I could finish cleaning the ground floor (about 80m²), with the Dreame H12 Pro I can do the entire cleaning in one go, especially since its 4000mAh battery gives it a good battery life of about half an hour (in automatic mode). This is another small detail, but a very practical one, and it saves a few more minutes on cleaning time :)

Conclusion
Following the H12 review, a new test of the H12 Pro left me a little skeptical. But I must admit that the two models are nothing alike, with the Pro version being far superior to the last model I tested! This is also confirmed by our peers, with the H12 Pro being cited in comparisons as the best value for money among vacuum cleaners.
With a power increase from 200 to 300W, larger tanks, an edge-to-edge brush, and an electrolysis system, this Dreame H12 Pro truly allows you to vacuum and wash the floor in a single pass, saving considerable time!
The only thing I could still criticize is that it's not suitable for vacuuming rugs and carpets, so you'll need a proper vacuum cleaner if you have this type of surface. But that's true of all devices of this type.
Aside from this, this Dreame H12 Pro does the job perfectly, so well that even my wife has adopted it! Effective cleaning, with disinfection as you go, without the need to vacuum first, no more need to get your hands in dirty water with the mop… in short, it's a favorite! However, the Uwant X100 model

set the bar very high! But this new Dreame has dethroned it.

You'll need to budget a bit, though, as this device is available at a retail price of €549.
