Yeelight is a company specializing in lighting, which we greatly appreciate for its connected products. Like many, the manufacturer expanded its impressive range during CES 2023, launching several new products, including the smart lamp Cube, which should appeal to many (me first :p).
The Yeelight Cube Smart Lamp
The new Yeelight Cube Smart Lamp will be one of the first Matter-certified devices in the Yeelight Fun line, allowing users to choose from three different connectable unit styles: Spot, Matrix, and Panel.

You can combine the cubes into a customizable board, where you can display different graphs. When combined, the whole Cube Smart Lamp looks great!

In addition, Yeelight is also launching a new app to manage Yeelight Fun smart technology: Yeelight Station app. This brand new app will improve the integration options, functionality and management of the entire Fun range.
Of course, as the Yeelight Cube is Matter compatible, it can be used with all compatible systems: voice assistants, Apple Homekit, etc.
The starter kit, which includes a controller and a cube, will cost $75.99. The expansion cubes will cost $45.99. They will be available in March 2023.
Other products in its fold…
For once, the lighting specialist has gone a little off the beaten track by offering an automatic curtain opener, quite similar to what Switchbot for a few years now. There is clearly a market to be had, since Aqara has also ventured into this segment. The Yeelight model will not be Matter compatible straight away, but it will however be compatible with Siri shortcuts.
Yeelight also unveiled a smart scene panel and magnetic track lights for its premium lighting series.
Matter compatibility…
Matter, the long-awaited smart home standard developed by Google, Amazon, Apple, and other big tech names, will make smart home integration much easier, and it's only natural that Yeelight wants to make its products compatible quickly.
In addition to launching the new Cube smart lamp with Matter integration, Yeelight will integrate Matter into its Yeelight Pro lineup. The Yeelight Pro lineup is designed to cover whole-home smart lighting designs, and using Matter will make it much easier to integrate Yeelight products into an existing setup.
Yeelight is expected to expand Matter support to its entire Yeelight Pro lineup via an OTA update before the end of Q2 2023, a boon for anyone using or planning to use Yeelight in their smart home.
