Shelly disrupts the connected home at #CES2025 with its multiprotocol Gen4 range!

Shelly strikes a blow at CES 2025! The European manufacturer, which has gradually established itself as one of the leaders in home automation in recent years, thanks to its ultra-compact and affordable connected modules, has unveiled a series of innovations that are sure to get people talking.

Gen4, a multi-protocol revolution

The star of the show was undoubtedly the new generation of Gen4 modules. And what a generation it is! For the first time in the history of home automation, a manufacturer is offering modules that simultaneously support four communication protocols: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee and Matter. We dreamed of it, Shelly did it!

This technical feat allows users to freely choose their preferred protocol, without having to worry about compatibility. A real tour de force made possible by the use of new, more powerful processors incorporating extended memory.

A game-changing LoRa add-on

But that's not all! In addition to support for these 4 protocols, Shelly also innovates with a revolutionary LoRa add-on, compatible with Gen3 and Gen4 modules.

Priced at just €20, this little marvel extends the communication range of modules by up to 5 km, simply by clipping the add-on onto the module to be upgraded. A godsend for large-scale home automation projects, such as street lighting or agricultural applications.

Ever more compact modules

The Mini Gen4 range is not to be outdone either. The Shelly 1PM Mini Gen4 sets a new record: it is 35% smaller than previous models.

A feat that will make it even easier to install behind switches or sockets. And as always with Shelly, reduced size doesn't sacrifice functionality: remote control, programming, power consumption monitoring… it's all there!

Wall Display X2: control at your fingertips

The new Wall Display X2 also deserves our full attention. With its 6.95″ touchscreen, it fits perfectly into a standard flush-mounted box and features temperature, humidity and light sensors. A true control center for your connected home!

Extended Z-Wave compatibility

At the same time, Shelly is strengthening its Z-Wave range with the integration of Long Range technology (ZWLR).

This evolution enables communication distances of over 1.5 km on a direct line, and the management of up to 4000 devices on a single network.

Availability and price

The first Gen4 modules will be available from February 2025. The LoRa add-on, offered at the attractive price of €20, will considerably extend the possibilities of existing installations.

A strategy that hits the bull's eye

This new Gen4 generation represents a major turning point for Shelly. By offering multi-protocol modules, the manufacturer is responding to a growing demand for flexibility and interoperability. Matter compatibility ensures seamless integration with major ecosystems such as Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit.

With these announcements, Shelly confirms its position as an innovative leader in home automation. The multiprotocol Gen4, the LoRa add-on and the Wall Display X2 make up a coherent suite that should appeal to homeowners and professionals alike.
