Lifeaz Introduces the First Wearable and Connected Defibrillator for the Home #CES2023

Lifeaz is the epitome of the power of connected devices. It has a simple mission: to empower families and businesses to take action and save a life in the event of cardiac arrest. Since 2021, the health tech startup has equipped more than 10,000 households and workplaces across Europe with its Clark connected defibrillator, made in France and CE medical certified. Featuring technology previously only available in the public sphere, the Lifeaz Clark defibrillator is lightweight, compact, and portable, and can be installed at home (where 80% of strokes occur), at work, or even carried in a bag. To date, more than 16 lives have been saved, and this is likely just the beginning!

Cardiac Arrest: One of the Leading Causes of Death

In France, cardiac arrest accounts for 50,000 premature deaths each year. However, hundreds of lives could be saved by improving the survival rate, which currently stands at only 5%. Intervention must be possible within the first four minutes for a person to have a chance of survival, while emergency services arrive on average within 15 minutes. This sad reality is largely due to the general public's lack of awareness of first aid procedures and the still limited number of defibrillators available in the country.

The example of Seattle in the United States speaks for itself. In this city, where 80% of the population is trained and defibrillators are widely deployed, the survival rate exceeds 60%!

Recently, awareness has been growing in France, but the measures adopted prioritize the deployment of defibrillators in public places and facilities, even though 80% of cardiac arrests occur at home or at work.

Although cardiac massage maintains blood flow to the heart and brain for a while, most of the time, only a defibrillator can restart the heartbeat.

Bringing a defibrillator into homes must therefore be a priority!

Lifeaz has an all-in-one approach to protect families and businesses, enabling them to act immediately in the event of cardiac arrest:

  • Lifeaz has developed a unique defibrillator that is easy for everyone to access, even without prior training. It guides the user step by step and automatically determines the treatment to be delivered. There is therefore no risk of error.

  • Lifeaz provides remote maintenance and support. Connectivity allows Lifeaz to continuously monitor all defibrillators and alert the owner if maintenance is required or when the battery and/or electrodes need to be replaced. The goal is to ensure the proper functioning of all Lifeaz defibrillators in case of need.
  • Lifeaz provides first aid training, both in person and remotely.

Our goal is to make defibrillators more accessible and raise public awareness of life-saving first aid. Often, people who witness cardiac arrests don't know what to do or aren't prepared enough to intervene in time! Our portable defibrillator is extremely easy for everyone to use. It allows families, businesses, and communities to equip themselves and adapt to any situation, and can be transported anywhere. Thanks to its connectivity, Lifeaz can evaluate the defibrillator and ensure it's working perfectly at all times!
