Roborock presents its S8 series at #CES2023, including the new Roborock S8 Pro Ultra cleaning station

Roborock is one of my favorite manufacturers in the field of robot vacuum cleaners. In just a few years, the manufacturer has established itself as a key player in the field, thanks to increasingly innovative products, such as the Roborock S7 Pro Ultra, which we reviewed, featuring an automatic cleaning and emptying station. As it does every year, Roborock is taking advantage of CES 2023 to present its new line, logically called the S8, consisting of three models: the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the Roborock S8+, and the Roborock S8. The manufacturer also presented the Dyad Pro, its new cordless vacuum cleaner. Home cleaning devices such as robot vacuum cleaners and vacuum cleaners are becoming increasingly sophisticated, but cleaning effectiveness can be quite variable. The S8 series utilizes the most powerful cleaning system we've developed in a robot vacuum to date. Combined with the ability to navigate around objects and self-maintain, users can now enjoy a deeper clean more effectively than ever before. Improved cleaning performance

The S8 series features the strongest suction power Roborock has ever designed, at 6000Pa (compared to 5100Pa on previous versions). The new dual rubber roller brush improves dirt pick-up and better resists tangled hair, making it even more convenient for those with pets.

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra's brush is automatically raised up to 6mm in mopping mode and when the robot vacuum returns to the dock, helping to prevent cross-contamination.

This feature also allows users to clean all liquids without damaging the robot vacuum.

Equipped with Roborock's latest obstacle recognition and avoidance system, the S8 series can identify different objects in its path and navigate around them.

It can also automatically detect where it may get stuck, and suggest no-go areas to avoid getting stuck. Of course the application still allows you to define prohibited areas manually if you wish.

Charging has also been improved, and is 30% faster than before. With always of course the possibility of launching the charge only during off-peak hours, to save money :)

With the Roborock S8 Ultra, the manufacturer certainly hasn't revolutionized its previous model, but has added numerous details that bring it closer to perfection: more powerful suction and a dual-brush system for even more efficient cleaning; the ability to raise the brushes or the mop depending on the surface being cleaned, making it more versatile (if you only want to clean a liquid spill, for example); and finally, drying of the mop and the dock to prevent bacteria and unpleasant odors. Of course, we still have its ultrasonic mop and its highly efficient intelligent navigation, thanks to obstacle recognition. With a dock capable of automatically collecting all the vacuumed dirt, and two water tanks to manage the robot's clean water and collect its dirty water, we have a solution that promises to be particularly complete! The Dyad Pro is a vacuum cleaner and mop, a type we're seeing more and more, capable of vacuuming both wet and dry dirt. This isn't the manufacturer's first attempt at this, having already released the Dyad last year. This time, it's back with a Pro version, which aims to offer “revolutionary performance in a unique, cordless solution.”

With DyadPower, a powerful suction of 17,000 Pa, and the ability to vacuum and mop simultaneously, the Dyad Pro combines everything in a single device. Users can therefore enjoy controlled and flexible deep cleaning, even in corners and hard-to-reach areas of the home, up to 1 mm from the wall, which is quite rare for this type of product.

The Dyad Pro also intelligently adjusts the power, water flow, and amount of cleaning products for better cleaning. The Dyad Pro features a built-in cleaning product dispenser that automatically adjusts to your floor.

The Dyad Pro automatically cleans its rollers using a bidirectional motion when docked, followed by an automatic self-drying function, preventing odors and the growth of bacteria.

Compared to the first version, this “Pro” version uses its battery more efficiently, allowing it to clean up to 300m² on a single charge (approximately 43 minutes). Suction power has also been significantly increased, from 13,000 to 17,000 Pa.

The Dyad Pro will be available for sale in France in a few days, for a recommended retail price of €449. An introductory offer of €349 will be available from January 13 to 19, 2023.
